04/18 Weekend Recap

FC Denver Men’s Team

This weekend the only team to brave the snow and kick off on Sunday was our FC Denver Men’s team.

We played really well right from the start with an early goal from Alex Bernhardt assisted by Cesar Castillo. Azteca were able claw their way back and dominate the end of the first half and even out the score. We regained control of the game at the start of the second half before buttoning things up with a goal from Cesar Castillo assisted by Jordan Veillette. Weathered a few storms at the end of the game, but finished well.

From the men’s team coach: “Overall I'm really happy with the performance. We had moments of playing really well going forward as well as defending, we also had many moments on both ends that need some buttoning up if we are going to meet our goals this year.”

Co-men of the match:

Cesar Castillo was a difference maker in the attack the entire game assisted the first goal and scored the match winner.

Martin Vazquez came in just before half time and stabilized the entire defense. He was quality throughout the entire second half including a couple game saving tackles in the box.
