04/25 Weekend Recap
Men’s First Team
Our Men’s First Team dominated the game versus Aurora FC from beginning to end. We carried play through the whole game and controlled possession in the opponent’s half. Although we squandered several opportunities, the final score was an impressive 5-1. With a more clinical approach in the attacking half, there’s no doubt the score difference would have been greater. Overall an outstanding performance from the team.
Paul Hogan was unstoppable in the opponents half the majority of the game. After scoring the first goal and creating multiple more opportunities, his impressive performance earned him Player of the Match.
Women’s White
Another dominating performance was on display this weekend, Women’s White hosted Denver West Lady Rebels winning the game 5-0. The first goal of the match came in the 32min when Miriam Poole received a through ball from Katie Marcheso and beat the Lady Rebel’s keeper on a 1v1. The halftime conversation was driven by noticing weaknesses in the defense. In the second half, we began to spread the ball wide to control the outside lanes and the rest was history. Goalkeeper, Abby Bouck, came up big with two impressive saves in the second half, holding the Lady Rebels at 0. The final nails in the coffin were back-to-back goals in the 83rd and 85th minutes.
With one assist, one goal, and a constant presence all over the field, Katie Marcheso was named Player of the Match.
U-23
2-2 tie versus Victoria Kickers.
Masters
2-1 victory over Lions Alliance FC.
Legends
A fantastic showing from the squad with goals starting early and often. At the half the score was 5-0 but, that wasn’t enough for these Legends. Adding 2 more to the score and ceding only 1 off a 25yd free-kick, the final score was 7-1.
Meza and Fallon were named the Players of the Match.
Women’s Green
Women’s Green was scheduled to play FC Deportivo Camargo. Unfortunately, FC Deportivo Camargo was a no show and forfeited the match.
